Not happy at work now

I'm writing to the forum for advice. I'm a 19 yr old w/ a specialized associates
degress from a technical school. I'm currently employed as a web page programmer,
but i really really want a visual basic job. Does anyone have any suggestions?

As noted in some nearby discussions, most employers want to see some experience,
so changing fields can be tough.

Before giving up on your present job, see if there's any place at all where
you could contribute to the company as a VB developer. Maybe you've already
tried, but if not, look around - maybe you could build some small tool or
utility that would help someone. Anything you can do for them now means
that you'll be able to put VB on your resume to impress the next company's
HR people.
