how to use java to open Word2000 's pattern plate?

I don't know of anyone who has build a text loader and formatter for Word 2000, so what you'll have to do is make a doccument and open it with notepad and try to find out what all the things do. After that, add some formattting to the text and try to find out how it does that. Then, when you read the file, search the file for all the different keywords and take them out and then format the text how it's supposed to be formatted. If you need help on anything just reply and i'll try to help.

Check out openoffice.org...it's open source, and while searching through it may be a pain, it can open Office files of all sorts.
