About 5 years ago I put together a lo-fi website for my band and I'm in the process of updating it. It was built on a 500 mhz Pentium 3 machine and ran fine with 2 animated applets on the homepage. Now, with a 2.7 ghz Athlon Xp and a gig ram, it pegs the cpu usage at 100% and the animation is sketchy at best. I'm using Java 1.5, Win. XP Professional (sp2) and IE v.6.
I tested the site in Windows 98 (same computer diff. hard drive) and it worked much better.
