I am sure you have heard the stereotype of the VB "programmer" who depends on WYSIWYGs and other "RAD" tools to do their job as a programmer. And I know that there are a lot of competent VB and C# .NET programmers out there. But there are also a lot of people who actually fulfill the stereotype out there. So does anyone here have any horror stories about a coworker who really was in over their head taking a job as a programmer? Any stories about what happened when said coworker was required to move outside their zone of comfort? Did you ever deal with someone who didn't know jack about programming, but thought they did? I want to hear your stories.
PS. Again I must reiterate that I am not implying that all .NET programmers are like this. I currently hold a job doing C# programming. I will admit that I prefer C/C++ but I understand that there are certain projects where C/C++ isn't appropriate. So please don't flame me.
