Hello Group! Please forgive me if this isn't the right group for my questions,
and if this matter has been posted before.

My basic problem is that a collegue and I are using a software and want to
connect to the same database, MSDE is provided with the software, and of
course we could buy SQL Server 7 if it's necessary, but it feels like overkill
at this moment.

On several pages presenting software solutions I can read tha MSDE
is suitable for sharing a database in a smaller workgroup (up to
five connections). But I can't find any information if it's legal to do so.
Is it? Actually I can't even find a EULA for MSDE anywhere.

Neither can I find any instructions of how to do, and the software provider
dont have a clue.

Just trying to connect to the computer acting as "server" using
the computers networkname doesn't work. Is it the problem with "Named pipes"?
If so, is there a work-around, that's legal (of course).

I would appreciate if someone helped me with these questions.

Thanks in advance!
