access denied error - while connecting remote sql server th'gh query analyzer or enterprise manager

hi all am connecting remote sql database from my query analyzer and enterprise
manager. i am providing correct loginfo still am getting access denied error.
with the same login credentials i am able to connect the same database from
my asp scripts. what could be the problem..if you have any valid info abt
this reply this Q.

Hi,

About a year ago I experienced some similar behaviour at a clients network.
It was completely impossible to get connected. After creating an ordinary
ODBC-DSN(!) it worked to connect via Enterprise Manager as well. But not
before!!! The DSN could then be erased and it still worked. I had to proceed
this way on every workstation in the network.

Unfortunatly I didn't have time to investigate the cause of this behaviour
and I have never ever come across it again. It may be worth trying this in
your case...
