Hi
I have been asked to write up a document template for application specifications.
Is anyone able to point into the right direction where I may find a sample
of some sort.
Regards

Craig,
Open up your April 2000 MSDN update and drill down to:
MSDN Library > Specifications > Platforms > Application
Specifications For...
It depends on which type of appplication you're authoring which way
you go from there.

Hi Shawn
Thanks for the tip. The stuff in MSDN is a good start for developing for
Windows2000. I was more after an internal document that a software house
might use when writing software. Example. A Manager asks a developer to
write a small utility to monitor for a files' existence. The developer,
then goes away to write up a functional specification on the mechanics of
the application and its functions. It this document that I would like to
get an example of.

Hello Craig,
IIRC I saw a post in vb.general about this 6 to 8 months ago and there
was an accompanying website that had some great resources. I'll see
what I can dig up.
If you have older copies of MSDN you can find the same type of
information (Windows Design Specs) for each of the recent OS's (back
to 3.1). Those are one of the greatest resources a developer could
have (IMHO). There's also a couple samples on the MSDN CD about this
too - try searching for "Hungarian" and following the related links.

I would be VERY interested in seeing the info from vb.general also. Is
there somewhere I can go to look at the complete archive of this list?

You can try www.deja.com and/or www.remarq.com. Another alternative would be
to download Copernic (www.copernic.com) and do a search using the
"newsgroups" category.
