How can a DBgrid be updated?

I have a DB Grid that I want to be able to edit (i.e. type info into the various
cells).

I have made sure the properties are set to allowupdate...

But when I run my app the grid pops up but I can not type into it.

Does anyone know how to set it up to be able to modify it?

Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.
