Paul: Implementation questions are best posted to a group devoted to the
programming language you're using: e.g., c++.windows.development,
java.general, vb.general, etc. This group is for language-neutral UI design
discussions.

If you tell me which language you're using, I'd be happy to move your
question to the appropriate group. Or, you might try searching for
("progress bar" and "status bar") at http://news.devx.com and see if someone
has already answered your question. Thanks!
