Hi,
Could anyone tell me which one is the best editor for coding regular java
programs...I have been using Dave's editor from the past 1 year..but then
it does not tell for any syntax errors(it compiles)..in an editor, I want
the functionality to compile and also check for syntax errors options..is
there any editor which provides both of these functions ? and if so, where
can I download that..I would be happy if u could tell me the answer asap...
Thanks in advance...

Hi
I agreed totally that JBuilder 4 is a very good tool. I have tried the evaluation
copy of JBuilder 5 and am even more impressed with its EJB integration with
other App. Servers.
The 3 most productive tools that I have experienced are Visual Age for Java
3.5, Jbuilder 5 and Forte for Java 3 (Early Access Program).
All 3 are really good tools and you should try their eval. copy before you
decide on one. I personally prefer JBuilder 5 and it really live up to its
reputation as the Developers' choice.
Hope this helps in your decision.

I have to say that I've used JBuilder 5, Forte for Java, and Visual Age for
Java 3.5. In my opinion, the best one is Visual Age for Java 3.5. I have
been amazed at my productivity because of its ease of use.

I use JBuilder 4 and it really is an outstanding IDE.
However, there's a new IDE by IntelliJ called IDEA that is getting alot of
attention, especially if your interest is in Extreme Programming.
I only tried the trial edition but it seemed like it would be a great investment
for only $400.

Yep - Visual Age for Java 3.5 - Great for testing too !!

Hi,
I work with JBuilder, is very functional IDE. I use the foundation edition,
but the Enterprise edition is the best IDE for Java programming.
