help with splay..

I need some help with the following program. Its realted to splay trees. The
basic algorithm i need help with is that I have a Splay tree from which I
am supposed to count the repeat occurances of uniquewords and create a new
splay tree which keeps the unique words and the number of occurances of their.
I just can't figure out anything.. urgent help will really be 'ppreciated..thanks
