Dishonest network Administratot

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for a network administrator to have a
copy be sent to himself of all mail messages being sent from one indivdual
on the mail server to another individual on the mail server with out them
knowing?

he's the admin - even if he couldn't do as you describe, he could always put
a net sniffer in front of the box looking for SMTP messages.

SMTP is for sending mail and POP3 is for receiving mail. If you just look
at packets aimed at a certain port you can sniff the protocol that you want.

I am the Network Administrator with over 500 users on my exchange email system.
In short the answer is YES! From Exchange to small mail servers, almost all
have this feature.

This message must be unnerving for all those 500 in your company :-) Well,
I feel in the case of corporate e-mail IDs, and as long as it is mentioned
in your company's E-mail policy, its okay for an administrator to do that.

First, you might want to rephrase the dishonest part of your subject. This
scenerio you have posted is 100% possible, and necessary in some cases.
If you suspect your NETADMIN is doing this maliciously then notify your HR
dept. Just be sure that you are following email policies and that the HR
dept would have no reason to monitor email between two employees
