help with rpc from browser javascript to server java servlet

I must be stupid but I keep searching and can't find a good site to show me
how to make an IE5 browser communicate via Javascript/DHTML to Java Servlets
on the server. Can anyone give me a lead?

Try XMLHttp. I've done it but I don't know where I put the code. YOu can
also do it with key/value.
