Hi guys,

I have just finished a MSc in E-Commerce in London and would like to become
more "technical" in the wireless industry. But I am not sure which wireless
programming language or route to begin with. Should I start learning Wml,
WmlScript, Java or some sort of device-based language ? Any advice or sharing
of experience will be very much appreicated.

Regards,

Anthony

Anthony,
Your first best bet would be to familiarize yourself with the industry as
a whole. Identify a few key players and see what technologies they are using.
XML is always a good place to start, since it has many other uses than just
wireless and is used for WML. A good site to become acquainted with is also
the WAP Forum page, with some specifications. Then it never hurts to get
a WAP phone and just start surfing. See what's out there, and what isn't.
There's a few more standardized courses offered by some of the bigger companies
related primarily to their own technologies (Nokia, etc), and Phone.com has,
I believe some self-paced learning CDs, and an actual course you can attend.

Good luck,
