How to disable radio buttons using JavaScript

Hi,

I have a text box where a user can enter time and 2 radio buttons for AM
and PM. I don't want to enable the radio buttons until the user enters a
valid time. I used document.all.item.disabled but it did not seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
