Your question is not as "weird" as it may sound, as DHTML is not an official
language or markup and people give different definitions of it.

The best definition I've ever heard is the following:

"DHTML (for Dynamic HTML) is a collection of features that together, enable
your web page to be dynamic. Dynamic is defined as the ability of the browser
to alter a web page's look and style *after* the document has loaded."

And to accomplish this, a combination of layers (or rather the cross-browser
DIV element), CSS and JavaScript is used; different coding for NS and IE
will be necessary.

There are many online DHTML tutorials, take your pick from a search on "DHTML"
in your favourite search engine.
Personally I recommend Dan Steinman's DynDuo, a cross-browser DHTML tutorial,
available for download and thus offline reading. See <http://www.dansteinman.com/dynduo>.

Good luck!
