Hi,
Currently, I am working on the analysis and design of redeveloping of
my companies existing web site. Related to this I was thinking of using .Net
framework for this development.
Recently, I have attended Microsoft's .NET seminars. I also studied the
sample/preliminary web site like gotdotnet.com, ibuyspy.com. I am not sure
how good is this time to develop the real-time website using .Net framework
and ASP.Net in particular.
Basically, we want redevelop this website to make it faster, robust and
want to avoid the system crash on Win2000 platform.
Do you suggest to start developing a web based application by using .NET
framework with ASP.NET and SQL Server 2000 as a backend in real time
environment as these technologies are still in BETA?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Geeta Kalantre.

I see you got an answer to this question in the vb.dotnet.technical
newsgroup. In the future, please do not post a single question in multiple
newsgroup--just select the best one for your question.

Here are more details about the policies and etiquette of posting in the
devx newsgroups:

I developed couple of websites while learnig .net, I used C# and ASP.net.
It depends on Ur production release date, by any chance if it is second quarter
of 2002 then U can go ahead and start developing in ASP.net.
We can expect first version(.net dev tools) by end of this year and atleast
one service pack by second quarter of next year.

BTW .net SDK framework (beta1) is stable enough to play around and get the
hang of it.But I really recommend u to wait till atleast first version ships,
before u start any serious development.
