A good way to connect any Java application, including Applets, is to use JDBC. You can find a JDBC driver fo MS SQL Server either at MicroSoft's site, or just do a search on the web. The driver will more than likely come in the form of a jar file. Once you get that, you should go to Sun's site and look at the JDBC tutorial: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html
