How can I implement XML in my Intranet web site?

I am web developer and developed Intranet web site for
my factory.
I am a XML novice.
Please let example to em to see the advantage of apply XML
in Intranet web site.

IN which way do you want xml to be used in your intranet?

XML is just a technology, not use in it existing if you dont have a use for
it. e.g. Strcuturing unconventional data, navigation structures.

Will you please show me some sample of using XML technology?
Now I found someone use XML store data to show in web page like
dynamic menu.
