variable session

sorry for my english.

My problem is:
In a page asp i use a varible session..
when a open a new window (with window.open.. and close this window)
my variable in null..

I've had this problem too. I believe that Session variables are specific to
each browser window on the client machine, but the behavior doesn't always
seem consistent. Does anybody have the real deal on this?
