Paradox DB Summary to Access DB through VB6

Here's the situation. I have statistics in a Paradox table from which I need
summary information. However, this summary data needs to be updated and
tracked daily. I want to store the summary data into an Access database.
I think that once I get the summarized data out of the Paradox table, I
know how to get it into Access (I think).

    So, my first question is:
How do you connect to and query a Paradox table through code? I was able
to connect before using the db.Connect method. However, when I queried with
a SQL statement using DISTINCT, it said it wasn't supported. I only need
to perform aggregate function on the table and store that info in an Access
    database.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    John

    John,

Just to check my understanding of your problem:
You have data in a Paradox database.
You want to summarize that data.
You want to "save" that summarization in an Access database.

    If that's correct...

How about creating a "new" Access database that is only composed of linked
tables, those from the Paradox database and those from the Access database.
Be sure to allow this new database all rights to the Access database, and,
if necessary, rights to the Paradox one.

Then, just run your summarization queries and your insert queries against
    the linked table database.

    See if the following helps:

    Sub ImportParadoxToAccess()

    Dim cnn As New ADODB.Connection
    Dim sqlString As String

    ' Open the Connection
    cnn.Open _
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & "Data Source=C:\My Documents\db1.mdb;" & _
    "Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=4"

sqlString = "SELECT * INTO [ParadoxTable] FROM [Paradox 5.x;DATABASE=C:\My
    Documents\Paradox].[Paradox.DB]"
    cnn.Execute sqlString

    cnn.Close
    Set cnn = Nothing

    End Sub
