    Run-Time error '3260' in Access

Rest of error message is as follows:

Couldn't update; currently locked by user 'Admin'
    on machine 'J******'.

This happens every day to our users by the same machine.
I have checked to make sure the program is shared
and have repaired the datebase with no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem?

    Thank You
    Kathleen

    ;-)

the admin always has an exclusive lock on the database˙ ( and he must have this right )

so if your database has users with no locking rights and the Admin logs in ( opens the db )
and they acess the same records your user has a problem ( resulting in the error above ) notice that a lock often happens in page views (so the admin doesn`t necesarly have to access the same record to lock the rowset )

the admin must have exclusive rights so he can
    compact and repair the database

here is a nice MSDN resource regarding this issue
