An object is an instance of a class. A "control" is a type of object, but
people usually use that term only when the class exposes a visual interface
with which users (and/or designers) can interact. Note that that's not
always true. It's perfectly possible to create a "control" with no visual
interface at either design time or run time. In ASP.NET, probably the most
telling differentiating feature is that a control inherits from either
    System.Web.UI.Control, System.Web.UI.UserControl, or
    System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl
