What exasctly is ASP & what can it be best used for ??

Hello there,

I am a 3rd year computer student & this year I have a very big project to
do in college ! I have decided to chose between doing a project in relation
to a Database for either a Student Results Database or else a Hospital Store
System ! In doing this end of year project, we can only use either ASP, C,
C++, Java, Javascript & maybe Oracle to wrote the code for the actual program
! However, despite being a 3rd year computer student, I have absolutely no
idea what kind of computer language ASP is or what exactly it is or can be
used for !! If anyone can enlighten me in some why at all in relation to
my problem, then I would be eternally greatful & really appreciate the information
! Also, if anyone could suggest the best way of maybe going about how I might
approuch the project in relation to what language I might use, it's particular
advantages/disadvantages over other programming language etc.; then this
would be great ! Thanks !
