Maximum number of SELECT element (to create a drop-down list box) can be used in one .asp form.

We have tried to put 60 SELECT elements in a asp form which can not work.
Is there a limit of maximum number of SELECT elementcan be used in one .asp
    form?

I would have to question any design that would require 60 drop-down boxes on
one form. There has got to be a better way to organize the presentation of
this data. Perhaps a psuedo-wizard or something.

That said, I know of no specific hard limit to how many select boxes can be
rendered at once. Bear in mind however, that once the page is returned to
the client's browser, everything on that page must be loaded and rendered by
whatever machine it's on. So I suspect that you might have serious trouble
getting 60 select boxes to run on a Pentium 120Mhz machine with 12Mb RAM
whereas a 2.4GHz machine with a gig of ram might not even hiccup.

I've a couple of select elements with more than 60 items so I'm thinking there
is not a max. could you post select code?

    Need more info. Specifically --

By "60 select elements" do you mean that you have 60 separate dropdown
boxes (yikes)? Or, do you mean that you have 60 options within one
    select dropdown?

Please define "can not work." Do you get an error message (View Source
on the page and scroll all the way down -- it may be hidden within an
option tag, so not displayed on the screen)? Do you see some of the
options and not others? Do the options display incorrectly, or pass an
    incorrect value?

How are you creating these options? Show a bit of code, please.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
I think Devin is right. The asp is actual not down but takes a long time
to response. We will re-organized our form to reduce the number of selection
    elements in one page.
