Updating field in a form

Hi all, i got a small problem. Let me break it down...

I have a form with a datasheet full of data.

I have a field in the form (not in the datasheet) based on a query, which gives me the sum of one of the fields in the datasheet.

For some strange reason i could get a calculated field to work based on the datasheet nor the table for the particular field the sum is calculated for. So this field is based on a query that calculates the sum of the field.

Basically when i enter data into the datasheet, is there a way that updates the sum field (in the form)?

At the moment everytime i enter data into the datasheet, i have close and re-open the form, and only then is the sum field updated?

Perhaps there might be some command button i can use or an activex control? Any ideas?

just thought i'd post and say i worked the problem out by myself, i just used an on click 'requery' macro event. Seems to have done the job fine.

Still dont understand why this was a problem!
