Auto fill a form from thumbnail alt text

Hello all, and thank you in advance for your help. I have a very large image collection sorted by catagory into i-frames. I have a text box on my main page that I would like to auto fill when an image thumbnail is selected. The problem is that I dont want to have to edit every thumbnail to get this to happen. Is it possible to have the image box "look" for a thumbnail being selected and colecting the alternate text? Here is a link to my site
