running a java application by icon

Is there a way to running a java program by using say clicking an icon. I know you can write a batch file to run the program, but I need something more user friendly for the general public. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Another way is to build an executable using an install program. I am familiar with InstallAnywhere, and it will create an executable file, with a custom logo, for a Java application. There are several versions of the program, and the basic edition (called Now!) is free. Go to www.zerog.com and see if this code will work for you.
