Is it true that JSP creates Servlet java code?

    I am working with JSP.
My web server is tom cat.

Is it true that JSP creates Servlet java code of JSP files when it executes? If so how can I view them?

You are correct! JSPs are actually compiled down to servlets. You can actually see the .java files and the .class files if you look in the JAKARTA_HOME directory. The path should be something like this:
    JAKARTA_HOME/jakarta_tomcat-version/work/Standalone/localhost/_

This path could vary depending on where you installed tomcat, what OS you are on, and how you have your contexts set up.

If using linux, or some other unix OS I would probably just go to the JAKARTA_HOME directory, and do a find for all classes. This should tell you where your .java and .class files for the servlets live.

    -gc
