Win XP problem?
Hi everyone,
I'm new here, and also to Java, so please bear with me if it shows!
I was wondering if anyone else has problems running java.exe in Windows XP? Everytime I try to compile a program (and a very simple one!), I get the "java.exe has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" Send error report box. I have another, older pc running Win98 that doesn't have this problem, so my initial suspicions that it was something I was doing proved wrong. I'm guessing it's XP, but don't know what to do about it. Any ideas?

XP works with Java just fine.
Have you tried uninstalling all java runtime and development programs and then doing a fresh install?
ArchAngel.
