Question run executable in java window

We wouild like to run a smal windows application within a java window by downloading the file to the workstations and running it.

    Is this possible?

The little program does need some connectivity to a mssql database too.

I know previous versions of Java really limited interaction with the host machine. In this case, this is jsut a LAN and we just want to run our app inside a browser to meet some silly internal requirements.

    Thanks

Unless the application is an applet, then not really.

If you *really* want Java to interface with it, I suggest you take a look at web services.
