help in constructing a chat client server scenario

Hi all,

I need to create a server and clients (at least 3)so that they can be able to chat. When the server recieves a msg, it relay to other clients.

Wondering whats the best way to create this as I am a newbie concerning JAVA. I have been told to look at arrays concerning assigning the clients with ID's

Can anyone list resources where I can start on this or other useful links? (bearing in mind i am an absolute beginer)

well i don't know how much you know about networking, so i'll give you this link that i was given on my course. It's a Sun tutorial dealing with networking. There are a few examples of client server interaction that you can compile and run
