    Not sure what to download to start

    What do I need to download for Java programming?"

    What do I need to download from sun to start programming in Java? I am not sure which link from the Sun site.

    W98 SE

    Any other hints or advice? I have booked marked some tutorials but any others would be appreciated.

    woh you are really new. First you need a compiler. BlueJ has a nice and simple interface, d/l that from Sun. You'll also have to d/l the java sdk. Nest, find a book on java. Take a look at "Java by Example". You can view it for free here.

    you need the java 2 sdk (called j2se sdk by sun) for windows i386 machines
    you also need a text editor. i recommend www.ultraedit.com
    The 6th edict:
