    Report Generator or Print Preview

I am working on an application with many arrays and the output needs to be in differnt formats on a page. That is I will have tables, graphics and regular lines of text.

It would be nice to view the information and than have the ability to print it out. Someone suggested that I look into one of Java's report generators. I thought that I would need only a print preview tool.

I need help deciding if I need a Report Generator or a Print Preview tool. Also, any suggestion for a specific tool (with good examples) would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks...Ronnie

print preview only shows you what will be printed.. if youre not using a report tool ,but merely printing a garbled mess.. then the print preview will show a garbled mess

i.e., get a reports tool if you want to make reports..

cjard - Thanks. Do you know if a report generator will create an output with tables and text lines populated from arrays?

    I need to create:

    Jan feb.......................Dec Total
    info1
    info2
    infox

    Summary x y z

Also, do you know of an easy Report Writer thats not too expensive?

    Thanks...Ronnie
