    MPEG recognition

    Hi all,
I'd like to know if some free code (better java) exists to recognize the format of mpeg file . i.e. You have foo.mpeg, the code should return if it is mpegI or mpegII.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi, trizzi.

You might want to try searching under the Java JMF API, as this deals specifically with media within Java.

As regards code to recognise if a format is mpeg1 or mpeg2 I have yet to find any.
