Custom Connection Protocol

does anyone know how to use a custom protocol instead of http or ftp.

please reply as soon as posible a i want to try and use nema-0183 standard

if it uses standard tcp/ip sockets, then jsut connect a socket up to the server and pump the bytes it is expecting..

theres nothing magical about http or ftp; its just a set of well defined requests and responses, that are passed in clear english, over a socket connection.
