    Simple GUI Design Problem

    Hi,

I'm having trouble creating a very simple GUI in Java. All I want is two canvases, one on top of the other as shown in this picture. I've tried all sorts of layouts but I cannot figure out how to display two canvases on top of each other.

    Hi,

Have a look at the attached document as it contains code that works fine for me (file to be renamed with a .java extension and to be compiled)!

Otherwise, you can also have a look at the following link that describes how to create a custom layout manager (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutor...ut/custom.html).

Thanks for that code. It was the null layout and the set bounds method that I needed. It works great now.
