pc radmind port to java?

I;m working on porting radmind (http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/radmind/) to a PC version.

The code is entirely in C as of now.

The idea is to rewrite radmind in Java for the port.

Thoughts?

Do an open heart & brain & guts surgery splitting it open
from toe to scalp and get at thorugh understanding of how it works. After that initial analysis, try to shift your
mind into an object oriented approach to the solution
an start searching for objects that, when put together,
not only performs the tasks, but also explains and clarifies the problem domain.

Just stating the obvious I guess
