Java COM bridge for Power Point presentation

    Hi guys,
I'm about to start a serious Project for a Power Point Viewer Java Application:
I need a Java program that can:

    1) File browse for a PowerPoint presentation on the users computer.

    2) Convert that presentation to individual images (each slide = 1 image – gif or jpg)

    3) Display those images on the screen with both arrows to flip through the slides and a select box with a list of the slides (so they can just click on one to display).

I’m guessing it will involve some implementation of a Java to COM bridge. But i don't have any Knowledge about this issue.
I would like to have Ideas on How to approach this Problem. Any Resources , Links , Source code or propositions would be very welcomed.

    Many thanks for Hepling.
    -Regards.
