Framework to Integrate legacy applications
I have a code that is running on the server and there could be several clients (mainly third party applications) that needs to access the server side code. For every new client the interface for that is required to be coded or accomodated in the server code.
I wanted to know if there is a java framework that assist in minimising the impact on the server side code due to the variety of client applications.
I don't know if there is a framework already out there, but there is a fairly easy way to set it up yourself. What you could do is put a layer between the client and the actual server side code. This layer will then translate the client interface to something the server side code can understand. That way, when a new client, with a different interface comes along, all you have to do is write a new layer between that client and the server side code, but the server side code itself remains the same.
