    Posting to a URL

Can I post data to a URL in VB 6?

For example, in a VB app I pull firstname, lastname from database and post to url www.myurl?firstname=sam&lastname=smith.

Is this possible? If so, how?

    Thanks,
    Ninel

The easiest way is to use the OpenURL method of the Internet Transfer Control (included with the Professional and Enterprise Editions of VB). See http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...fercontrol.htm for more information.

    Writing DLL

If I am creating just a DLL with no front end how can I use the Internet Control? Is there anything else I can use?

    Thanks,

You can still put a form in the DLL and use it without displaying it.

Another option is to call the WinInet APIs directly: http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.Asp?ID=1252
