I recently logged into <futureofsoftware.net> to hopefully get some of
the most up to date information about software, computers, the internet,
etc. I have recently decided to go into the field of computer info. systems
at Southwest Texas State University. I haven't had alot of exposure to computers
inthe past and would like to know as much as possible. I'm facinated with
computers and all the developments coming into the field. While reading up
on these articles I didn't have a clue what they were saying because I didn't
understand what it seems they considered to be the most basic information.
If anyone out there could help me, I'm starting from the bottom and trying
to work my way up. I was reading things like Unix, Java, Linux, C++, and
all kinds of other things about software. I'm not even sure I understand
what exactly software is. Like I said, I'm starting from the ground up, and
I guess that begins with vocabulary. If anyone can help me please do, or
if you know of any good books to start with please inform me of those. I'm
going to send this same message out to as many different sites as possible
and if you might know of somewhere that might help me, please forward this
to them as well. I'm just hoping to get a helpful response. To anyone who
has the time or will, I thank you.
