RMI and policy file use
I have written a client application that is to reside on a web server. The client appears to connect with the remote server correctly and make a request but no answer is returned to the screen, although I believe that it is sent back. I'm guessing this issue is caused by the policy file permissions, or lack there of. The app. seems to produce the correct ans. when run on my dev computer with a policy file set up in my IDE. I just don't have a clue on how to implement one on the web server for my client app. I have looked at so much documentation on the web and now I am more confused than when I began my attempt to resolve the problem.
Some of the questions I have are:
1) Where do I place the policy file?
2) Is it automatically invoked if placed in the correct location?
3) How do I invoke it by command line on the web server I ftp'd my files to
3) If this is not the issue, what might possibly be the problem?
Thank you in advance.
