    Exclamation What software is needed 2 write java

    I am trying to learn java as i have just finished learning a range of difrent Basic languages(yabasic,blitzbaic,sinclaire basic,ect) but i have a big problom i don't no what software is needed to write java so its going to be hard to learn it if i cant write it .
    ps:if theres freeware for the above purpose please let me know?

    There is a HUGE amount of good freeware available for that. Since you'll need a Java JDK to start with you can go to java.sun.com and download a JDK bundled with a full up development IDE called NetBeans.

    Try Optistic's IDX Java IDE (http://www.optistic.com/idx). It's not feature bloated, and great for beginner developers. The editor really provides a lot of information about your code elements.
