    ADO Properties to read SALES.WDI database

    Hi there,

    Having problem using ADO Properties and connection to open and read so called Access Database. Instead of SALES.MDB it is in SALES.WDI. Have not seen this format before and not sure how to write the ADO properties and connection.

    Here is the VB6 script that is not working:
    Public Connstr As String
    Public GvDataPath as string

    GvDataPath = "\\SalesDept\SalesDept\SALES.WDI"

    Connstr = "" & _
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OleDb.4.0;" & _
    "Data Source = " & gvDataPath & ";" & _
    "Persist Security Info = False"
    Cheers,
    Lennie

    Can MS Access open the file? If not, it's not an Access database.

    Interesting. I've never heard of a .WDI file (WebSphere Data Interchange?) What does the file look like when you open it in Notepad?

    Hi Phil,

    When opened it using ACCESS, the table structure looks like normal ACCESS table. I have not opened it up using NotePad yet. Will try it and get back to you and share it with other members. Thanks for your suggestion.

    Create a copy in a temp folder, and then rename it from sales.wdi to sales.mdb and see what happens.

    Hi Hack,

    Nice hearing from you again. Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it does work by renaming it from .WDI to .MDB

    Good deal...so does that solve your problem or do you still have some outstanding issues?
