    Getting dotnetfx.exe to work in settings.ini

    Hello all.
    I am having a problem with installing dotnetfx.exe within Settings.ini. I have a WinZip executable file that calls Setup.exe. Below I have the code within Settings.ini

    [Bootstrap]
    Msi=InstallExpenseSystem.msi
    'LanguageDirectory=jpn
    ProductName=Expense Sheets
    'DialogText=
    CaptionText=Expense System DB
    'ErrorCaptionText=
    FxInstallerPath=c:\dotnetfolder\

    'installation of dotnetfx.exe
    dotnetfx.exe

    'Install user piece for expense sheets
    InstallExpenseSystem.msi

    If I understand right, the FxInstallerPath is the path on the machine running Setup.exe where dotnetfx.exe is located. I couldn’t get it to run properly when in the same folder as Setup.exe, so I created a folder called dotnetfolder. Upon trying to install the app, I get a message box that says…

    “This setup requires .NET Framework version 1.1.4322. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again. The .NET Framework can be obtained from the web. Would you like to do this now?” It has a “Yes” and “No” button for options.

    Why is dotnetfx.exe not being found and installed? I am a newbie at this, and is probably something basic to you, but at the moment, frustrating to me. Thanx again!!

    It appears after further investigation, that one of the programmers had changed the name of the executable to run on the website when the hyperlink was selected, so the winzip executable created to install dotnetfx.exe would never run. Instead, he set the application msi to install. If no .NET framework - message displays.

    I am going to strangle him now.
    Sorry for the false alarm.
