Job Title: Senior Analyst/ Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Senior Analyst
Basic Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst is responsible for providing on-going programming support for custom developed applications and to lead in detail design, programming, and implementation of new custom applications. The main goal of the Senior Analyst is to help centralize data, improve communication, and streamline business processes. Insure compliance with financial, procedural, and policy controls, regulatory and applicable legislation, especially Sarbanes Oxley section 404 and the CobiT framework.
Specific Responsibilities
The Specific responsibilities of the Senior Analyst entail the following:
1 Assessing the impact of proposed system modifications and/or enhancements.
2 Making modifications and/or enhancements to existing custom applications with approved change requests.
3 Working with end-users to build, design, and prototype new custom applications.
4 Determine the appropriate technology to be used for a new application by working with the IT operations group.
5 Design, program and test new applications.
6 Assist End-users in preparing and updating user documentation for custom systems.
7 Provide Production support for custom developed applications.
Reports to: Manager - Business Applications
Required Skills PowerBuilder, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SQL, C/C++, UNIX
Good oral and written communications skills
Education: Minimum - Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
Experience: Experience building Business Applications, Internet Application Development
Developer Position Specifications
Required:
Technical Skills: Heavy experience in:
C++
Powerbuilder 8, 9 or 10
PL/SQL
Class Libraries (ie. PFC or Blueprint)
Other Skills:
Unix and Shell script experience
Ability to interact daily with users
Solid communication skills (written and oral) Good problem solving skills
Strong work ethic
Pluses:
Technical Skills:
Oracle 9I up
Some DBA experience/training
Familiarity with Wireless Communications software and technology
Other Experience:
Transportation Industry Experience
