issues during installation of java1.5 over java 1.4

    Hi,
i have j2sdk1.4 installed and some applications i m working on use it. For a new application i want to install j2sdk1.5. Does that pose any risk of distubing my current applications using 1.4?

    cheers

Install the 1.5 SDK to a separate directory. In my opnion, there should not be a problem to the existing applications unless you are using some application server (J2EE application) which demands a specific version of JDK. You could manage it by setting the appropriate JAVA_HOME directory and using it accordingly in your PATH and CLASSPATH.
