Exporting SQL data into specific XML format
A client has handed me an XML specification, requiring mapping of hierarchical SQL data on our side into a significant XML format to hand off data to them.
Really basic question; where do I begin? I assume this can be done with VB and ADO or even VBA in MS Access 2003, yes? Any recommendations on good resources/books that cover the breadth of requirements in one easy to get started place?
Basically, how do you map hierarchical data fields into a defined XML format.
I'm having same problem (but exporting recordsets through ASP scripting) and was referred to the following examples which helped.
http://www.thevbzone.com, select the "vb standard modules" link, then scroll down to the modXML.bas sample at bottom.
Hope this helps. If you find something better, please let us know.
