Trying to open vbp in Visual Studio 2003

    Hi

I don't know if this is a silly question or not - I have v.little experience.

I am trying to open a VB6 vbp in Visual Studio .Net 2003 and it just opens as text.

Is there something special I should be doing or do I need to open the vbp in an older version of Visual Studio.

I am not looking to upgrade the code - just read it and maybe step through the code.

    Thanks in advance

You should open vbp in VB6 IDE (Visual Studio 6.0) only..

Did you try specifying VB Project files (Files of type) after selecting File...Open Project...?

This should cause the Upgrade Wizard to display.

vbp is not an available option in the 'files of type' on VS2003 for File->Open->Project.

I can open it from File->Open->File using all files as the 'files of type' but it just opens as text with no option of using the upgrade wizard.

We are talking about Visual Studio.NET 2003 right?

If you display a code window and click on the Tools menu item do you see Upgrade Visual Basic 6 Code... on the menu?

I have to apologise to all concerned - I've just noticed that the company i have just started working for has given me VS2003 but have removed the VB.Net option, so I couldn't even open a VB.Net project!
